David Beckham shows off bespoke Maserati supercar worth a huge sum

The former Manchester United and England player David Beckham has helped to launch the first Maserati Store in the UK.

Based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, around 100 people were invited to the exclusive event with the high-performance brand, which showcased some of the company’s latest models.

A Global Ambassador of the brand, David, who recently shared a heartfelt message to his youngest son Cruz after the 18-year-old passed his driving test, arrived at the launch in his own Maserati GT and made a speech about the new store.

He said: “I’m delighted to be here to support the opening of Maserati’s first new concept store in the UK. These are exciting times for the brand and this store reflects Maserati’s commitment to great design and innovation.

“The new store is designed to combine the atmosphere of tailors and a workshop, allowing customers to exercise complete control over the design of their car.”

Keeper of an impressive car collection, David Beckham owns a variety of high-end models from the brand, including a 1967 Ghibli coupe that features metallic blue paintwork and a tan leather interior.

Another model from the famous Italian marque in his collection is a dark green 1986 Quattroporte Royale, a model first launched to celebrate Maserati’s 60th anniversary.

However, David has also helped the company create new special editions of their models, playing a key role in the development of the MC20 Fuoriserie Edition, which features classy gloss black paintwork with subtle pink trim.

However, whilst David Beckham is a keen supporter of the Maserati brand, his automotive history is a little more extensive.

Beckham previously said that his first car was a turquoise 1994 Volkswagen Golf, which he kept until 2015 when it was sold in a charity fundraiser.

Today, other models in David Beckham’s car collection includes a Rolls Royce Phantom convertible, a 211mph McLaren 720S and a classic Land Rover 90.

Bernard Loire, Chief Commercial Officer for Maserati, noted that buying a car from the company’s new store will have the same feeling of lavishness as driving one of their cars.

He explained: “From the early stages of developing a new car, to the complete luxury retail experience, everything at Maserati is designed with the client in mind.

“Our first new concept store in the UK embodies our values of passion, innovation and beauty through the lens of Italian luxury and it represents another significant milestone in our exciting growth plans, including the launches of Gran Tourismo and our electric Folgore range.”
