Police swoop to take children from Sara Sharifs grandfathers house

Sara Sharif’s stepmother says they are ‘willing to co-operate’

Sara Sharif’s grandfather has revealed that five children who travelled from the UK to Pakistan with Sara’s father have been taken from his house where they had been hiding.

According to neighbours, dozens of police raised the property in Pakistan on Monday.

Sara’s father Urfan Sharif and his partner, Beinash Batool, fled the UK after the 10-year-old was found dead at their home in Woking on August 10.

Post-mortem tests declared Sara’s death was likely to be “unnatural” after finding “multiple and extensive injuries”.

Muhammed Sharif, Sara’s grandfather, told the BBC he had been hiding the children in his home in the north-eastern city of Jhelum but would not say how long they had been there.
