Denver coroner identifies four killed in shootings

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner on Wednesday identified four people killed in shootings since Aug. 17.

The dead are:

Lumumba Sayers Jr., 23, who died after being shot Saturday in the 2800 block of Welton Street. He died at 4:52 a.m. at Denver Health Medical Center.

Gulian Musiwa, 25, was killed early Saturday morning in the 2700 block of Welton Street. He died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Frank Gomez Jr., 49, died after being shot in the 1800 block of South Sheridan Boulevard. He died Friday morning at Denver Health Medical Center.

Danzel Atkins, 30, died early Thursday morning at Denver Health Medical Center after he was shot in the 2200 block of Welton Street.

Denver police said on the social media site X that a suspect has been arrested in connection with Gomez’s homicide. Details will be released later by the Denver District Attorney’s Office.

Sayers and Musiwa were killed in a triple shooting in the Five Points neighborhood. A third person was injured. Police are searching for a man who was wearing bright yellow pants and he is considered a suspect, according to a post on the social media site, X.

No suspects have been arrested or identified in connection with Atkins’ death.
