Arvada family reports Ayla Lu Reyes, 17, missing

A 17-year-old girl is missing from Arvada, and her family, who fears she is endangered, asks for the public’s help in locating her to bring her home safely.

Ayla Lu Reyes was last seen on Aug. 6 and she is “at risk and vulnerable,” her family said in a flyer posted on Facebook — Missing Persons of Colorado.

Ayla may be with a 29-year-old man from Honduras, said Julie Mitchell, her aunt. Away from home, she is lacking prescription medicines and a support network.

“Our family is concerned and worried she may be in harm,” Mitchell said. “We are working with police, trying to get her home safely. We miss her and are frightened for her.”

The Arvada Police Department is investing the case as a “runaway,” police said.

Ayla is described as Filipina/Caucasian with brown hair and brown eyes, she’s 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 115 pounds. She may be wearing black cargo pants or black shorts, black crop top, black Converse sneakers or Crocs, and a gray hoodie.

Anyone who sees Ayla, or who knows of her whereabouts, is asked to call 911 or Arvada police at 720-898-6900, or call 800-843-5678 (800 THE-LOST), the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
