This picturesque village has a street that is constantly named one of the best in the UK thanks to its charming English look.

The street, actually named The Street, in Castle Combe, near Chippenham, has been dubbed as one of the most eye-catching streets in the world numerous times, but the “hidden gem” remains relatively undiscovered.

Located in Wiltshire in the Cotswolds, The Street looks like it’s right out of a fairy tale and has actually been featured in one.

The 2017 fantasy move, Stardust, starring Charlie Cox, Claire Danes, Sienna Miller and Ian McKellen was set there.

Castle Combe was transformed into a village bordering on a magical land, making it a tourist spot for Britons looking to take in some of that magical beauty.

The village was also featured in The Wolf Man and Stephen Spielberg’s War Horse, as well as the original Dr Doolittle film.

The church, St Andrew’s, which dates back to the 13th Century, has a unique faceless clock which is said to be one of the oldest working clocks in the country.

And like any good British village, it is home to a handful of pubs offering home cooked meals and drinks after a day of exploring the scenic Cotswolds.

Tourists visiting the village have gushed over the “stunning” views and architecture. Charlotte wrote on Trip advisor: “Castle Combe is as picturesque in real life as it looks online. Truly the prettiest village I have visited. Quiet and peaceful; mostly privately owned and residential homes to people so I’d hope people respect this.”

Recently, Condé Nast Traveler named the tiny village of Castle Combe as one of the 50 best destinations for small town getaways.

Since the 1600s, no new houses have graced its streets, rendering it a meticulously preserved haven of charming stone cottages, timeless pubs, and historic churches.

The houses, adorned in the warm, honey-coloured Cotswold stone, stand as living monuments to the enduring charm of this region.

Each cottage, a testament to the architectural legacy of the area, showcases the quintessential beauty that defines this village.
