New passenger car registrations in France increased in October by 22 percent year-over-year to 152,383, taking the year-to-date total to 1,438,630 (up 16 percent year-over-year).<\/p>\n

The plug-in electric car segment is expanding more than twice as fast, gaining valuable market share.<\/p>\n

According to L\u2019Avere-France<\/em>, last month 40,379 new passenger plug-in electric cars were registered in France (44 percent more than a year ago), which represented almost 26.5 percent of the market (compared to 22.4% a year ago).<\/p>\n

Passenger all-electric car registrations increased to 25,473 (up 51 percent year-over-year), taking 16.7 percent of the market. Plug-in hybrids are also growing relatively fast \u2013 by 34 percent year-over-year to 14,906 units sold \u2013 taking almost 10 percent of the market.<\/p>\n

Together with commercial vehicles, more than 43,600 new rechargeable vehicles were registered (45 percent more than a year ago).<\/p>\n
