A lawyer has been caught making sexual comments referring to "school shoes" and "cotton panties" in an X-rated film while on a training call with fellow judges.

Alistair Duff was leading a session via WebEx with a group of justices of the peace (JPs) from his home in Edinburgh, Scotland, when the incident occurred. The training call paused for lunch but the 69-year-old failed to mute his microphone during the break, reports the Daily Record.

When three of the JPs logged back onto the call early, Duff – who previously represented 1988 Lockerbie plane bomber Abdelbaset al-Megrahi – could be heard saying: "Do you like to see a wee one struggling, school shoes, white socks, cotton panties?" He then continued: "Do you like them with pale skin?" and "Do you like them with brown skin?"

Duff was also heard using a racist term when he said: "Wee p**i. Lucky c**t." Two of the JPs on the call reported the incident to police, who searched Duff's residence and scoured through his electronic devices.

However "nothing illegal was found" during that search, fiscal depute Michael McIntosh told the court. Investigators later found a man from Level, Fife, had been on a call with Duff during the time the comments were heard.
