An Israeli lawmaker has called for a nuclear strike in the Gaza Strip after Hamas launched a massive terrorist attack over the weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Revital “Tally” Gotliv,\u00a0a member of the right-wing Likud party in Israel’s Parliament the Knesset, has called on social media\u00a0for Gaza to be wiped off the map.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Israel has the most formidable military in the Middle East and is widely thought to be a nuclear power possessing as many as 400 nuclear weapons. Israel’s Government does not openly comment on its nuclear program but several politicians have alluded to the weapons in the past.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Since Saturday, when Hamas launched a ruthless attack that killed at least 1,200 Israelis including women and children, Israel has declared war on the terrorist group and promised widespread destruction in Gaza. Preparations for a ground invasion appear to be underway.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
In one message posted to Twitter in Hebrew, Gotliv\u00a0said: “Jericho Missile! Jericho Missile! Strategic alert. Before considering the introduction of forces. Doomsday weapon! This is my opinion. May God preserve all our strength.”<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n Now, around 300,000 Israeli reservists have massed at the Gaza border along with artillery, tanks and infantry fighting vehicles in what appears to be preparation for a ground offensive.\u00a0<\/p>\n Israel’s Defense Minister has ordered a “complete siege” of Gaza blocking food shipments, water and fuel from entering the area governed by Hamas.\u00a0<\/p>\n There have been reports that Gaza’s only domestic power station is on the brink of running out of fuel which would leave Gaza in darkness.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n While at least 1,200 on the Israeli side have been confirmed dead, Palestinian authorities say more than 1,050 have been killed in Gaza.
