The French capital is currently ridden with a bed bug infestation in cinemas, hotels, trains and buses.<\/p>\n<p>Some people were said to be too afraid to sit on the Metro in case they got bitten. Professor James Logan, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said \u201cThe thing about bed-bugs is that they are incredible hitch-hikers.<\/p>\n<p><b> READ MORE: Factory worker put ring pulls and plastic gloves in food for Nando&apos;s <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>For the latest news from the Daily Star,<\/b> <b> <i>click here<\/i> <\/b> <b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo they can cling on to clothes or most importantly to suitcases.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pest controller Hugh Barrie, who runs The Bed Bug Doctor in Bournemouth said the plague had already spread to the UK, adding: \u201cWe have three vans working flat out at the moment treating homes and we just focus on the south coast from Brighton to Cornwall.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article31097306.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_Bedbug-bites-revealed-under-womans-shirt.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the pandemic everyone was desperate to travel abroad and cases in the UK have doubled. We are out every day tackling them in houses, apartments, holiday parks and Airbnb\u2019s. It costs around \u00a31,000 to treat a three-bedroom house.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are everywhere, even on trains and planes. It\u2019s a big problem in the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hugh said sprays were not enough to kill bed bugs as the chemicals alone would not destroy the bed bug eggs.
