Looming over a Dutch canal like invaders from outer space, the\u00a0concrete spheres of\u00a0Den Bosch make for otherwordly, if not a little cramped, accommodation.<\/p>\n
Known as Bolwoningen or bulb houses, the spherical houses are leftover from an experiment in affordable housing.<\/p>\n
Made from light prefab materials, the extraterrestrial-looking structures took just twenty-four hours to construct in some cases.<\/p>\n
Behind the cement and fibreglass exterior are living space for two people complete with a living room and kitchen.<\/p>\n
Entrance to the unusual space is through the central cylindrical stem which acts as a hallway, utility room and storage.<\/p>\n
