India has responded in kind to the expulsion, ordering a Canadian diplomat to leave the country.<\/p>\n
India’s foreign ministry said in a statement: \u201cThe concerned diplomat has been asked to leave India within the next five days.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe decision reflects Government of India\u2019s growing concern at the interference of Canadian diplomats in our internal matters and their involvement in anti-India activities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Responding to Trudeau, India’s foreign ministry branded the allegations “unsubstantiated” and a threat to “India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are a democratic polity with a strong commitment to rule of law,\u201d a statement released by the country\u2019s foreign ministry said, adding that Canada is harboring “Khalistani terrorists and extremists”.<\/p>\n The White House said it is “deeply concerned about the allegations referenced by Prime Minister Trudeau”.<\/p>\n A statement continues: “We remain in regular contact with our Canadian partners.
