Fabrice Landeloos, the father of Romain, added: "Our children will never be separated. They lived together and they will remain together even in death."
The pair, who met online nearly two years ago, were said to have attended numerous car rallies together, while their parents denied rumours that they had entered a restricted zone of the race.
