Pontins guest says shed rather snog Matt Hancock than stay at resort again

A woman would said she would "rather snog Matt Hancock " than stay at Pontins Brean Holiday Park again.

She left a review for the holiday park on Saturday – days the Sun published footage of the former Health Secretary kissing his aide inside his office.

He was replaced by Sajid Javid after admitting breaching social distancing rules by kissing millionaire lobbyist Gina Coladangelo who is married to the founder of Oliver Bonas.

Meanwhile Pontins visitors have vented anger over "mould, filth and spiders" in latest TripAdvisor reviews, Bristol Post reports.

One person who left a TripAdvisor review after a recent visit to the Brean resort was quick to lambast the venue in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset.

The woman called Lily described her experience as "bloody awful" and said: "I had to kill so many spiders as they kept coming out of the skirting board. The smell is so bad and the bed felt like it had fleas.

"I had to cover all my skin so that I didn't have to touch anything."

She concluded the review by adding "I would rather snog Matt Hancock than stay here again."

Britannia Hotels, which runs Pontins, has been contacted for comment.

It comes after a furious mother said her family holiday to Pontins was ruined by "p***ed up parents and drugs everywhere" at the holiday park.

Michelle Waddington claimed a security guard "refused to do anything" and told her he had "a better job than yours because I don't have holidays at Pontins".

The mum from Staffordshire, visited the holiday camp in Southport for three nights from Friday to Monday this week, with her partner, Ian, and his children.

She told the Liverpool Echo : "Drugs were freely being smoked everywhere you turned, kids were running wild until the early hours.

"Parents were p****d up, no masks were being worn, bottles of spirits were being brought into the park and drank in the entertainment area on clear show.

"The door guard didn't have a badge and refused to deal with the weed.

"He said it wasn't his job.

"So I asked 'what is your job then?' to which he replied 'clearly a better job than you because I don't have my holidays in Pontins'.

"It was supposed to be a break away after both me and my partner both working through all the lockdown period and not having much family time.

"There were big groups of teenagers walking around with alcohol, which became quite intimidating for my step-children and they refused to leave my side.

"I put a complaint in at reception before we left but I haven't heard anything back yet."

Michelle says something needs to be done, as Southport is a "lovely place" which is being "let down by Pontins".
