Met Office warns of up to 15cm of snow as Troll of Trondheim blasts UK
Severe snow and ice will batter Britain with an Arctic blast from the Troll of Trondheim plunging the UK into freezing temperatures, the Met Office has warned.
Weather forecasters reckon Brits should prepare for the harsh conditions brought by the Arctic weather system as the mercury plummets to a bone-chillingly cold level.
The extreme weather conditions will see parts of Scotland buried in up to 15cm of snow whilst other areas throughout the UK will see temperatures plummet to as low as -10C.

Experts say brutal winter air will hit the UK as early as this evening (Wednesday, December 7) with experts from the UK Health and Security Agency forced to step in to tell people to heat their homes to as least 18C.
Multiple Met Office weather warnings have been issued for the coming days, with ice set to sweep across western and southwestern England, Wales and Northern Ireland until 6pm tomorrow (Thursday, December 8).
The forecasters wrote on Twitter: “If you haven't already, it's time to dig out the winter hats, gloves and scarves.
"In addition, ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces, mainly where some of the showers fall as rain or sleet on some coasts."

Whilst forecaster Oli Claydon added: "Day to day we are in cold conditions already with that north-easterly flow, but conditions are set to get colder through the week…
"Overnight lows of minus 10 to minus 11 (12.2F) in areas where we do get snow in those rural parts of Scotland, with temperatures down to minus six (21.2F) in rural England.
"Cold conditions to remain through the weekend. Signs of warmer weather moving in from the southwest from Tuesday next week.
"But the signs are that the cold weather will hold in the north of the UK, so there will be a split between north and south."
