Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘no longer sell covers’ as popularity ‘plummets’

A royal editor has claimed she's had to stop putting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the front cover because they don't result in sales as their popularity "plummets" in Britain.

Ingrid Seward, the Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine, said that although there are beautiful pictures of the royal couple, the readership seemed to find them a turn-off.

Talking on the Royally Obsessed podcast, she said: "We stopped having Harry and Meghan on the cover a while ago.

"It just wasn't selling, the magazine wasn't selling when they were on the cover.

"And HELLO! magazine actually told me the same thing.

"Obviously there are some beautiful pictures of them and I would like to have them on the cover but it just doesn't seem to work."

She added: "I find that weird and interesting.

"There was a poll conducted in the UK recently, and their popularity has plummeted completely.

"It was extraordinary and I think it's because the British people feel that Harry's deserted us, and Meghan is probably the reason he's done so.

"Rather than saying wasn't he clever, wasn't he great, he got out."

According to the Royal Favourability tracker, by YouGov, Harry and Meghan's scores with the British public have plummeted and nearly six out of 10 people (59%) have a negative opinion of The Duchess of Sussex.

Luckily for Harry and Meghan, it's a whole other story on the other side of The Atlantic and they have been signed-up for a multi-million-dollar Netflix deal that will see them curate original content.

Meghan recently became the first royal to break a major rule and voted in the US election where Donald Trump is trying to win a second term as President, facing off against Democrat candidate Joe Biden.

She is keen to continue her political activism, according to a spokesman.
