KFC customer ‘stabs man in head after he walks in and asks for food’

A man was beaten up and stabbed in the head by a KFC customer after he walked into the restaurant and started asking for food, police say.

The victim was rushed to hospital after the shocking attack in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the US, and he managed to survive.

Branden Dion Pearson, 27, has been charged with attempted murder and he is being held at Broward County Jail, with bail set at $50,000 [£35,873], The Sun-Sentinel reports.

According to a police report, the victim walked into the KFC restaurant on Wednesday afternoon, February 24, and asked for food but Pearson refused and then insulted him.

They started fighting and when an employee separated them, the victim began throwing rocks which he had picked up in the car park, states the report.

Police say Pearson pushed the victim over and when he tried to kick back, Pearson pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the head.

He then went back inside the restaurant, sat down and waited for the police to arrive.

In the arrest report, police say that Pearson decided to stab the man because he threw rocks at him.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that a KFC employee has been fired after footage emerged of him calling a gay man a "f***ing queer" and a "f*g."

Lee Walls was picking up an order for customers on the DoorDash app with his partner Joshua Garner in Illinois, the US, when the worker launched the sickening tirade.

A video filmed by the couple shows the staff member, identified as Payton Burke, saying: "This motherf****r looks queer so he can get the f**k out of here."

After a heated exchange, Mr Burke repeatedly calls Lee a "f***ing queer."

When Joshua steps in and tells him: "You can't do that," the KFC employee responds with: "I don't give a f*** if y'all are gay or not."

Speaking to WAND, Joshua said he and his partner have been left shaken by the nasty encounter and he hopes Burke and all other staff involved in the incident lose their jobs.

"It was like a shot to the heart, like a bullet to the heart," he said. "It was like we couldn’t say anything."

KFC confirmed Burke has been given the boot and the franchisee of the store has personally apologised to the couple.
