Horrific shooting at funeral sees seven gunned down in front of 100 witnesses
At least seven people have been gunned down at a funeral home in the US.
The drive-by shooting took place as more than 100 mourners arrived for a funeral at 12.45pm on Wednesday.
Cedric Guy, the owner of the Serenity Funeral Home in Wisconsin, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "Once we heard the shots we called 911. We shut everything down. It just went crazy from there on.
"For the people that got hurt I'm just sorry it happened."
He said that roughly 100 mourners were waiting for the funeral of Braxton Taylor, 26, that was scheduled to take place at 1pm.
Taylor was shot to death on September 17 and the victims were male and female, ranging from between 24 to 48 years old, police told WBAY.
All of the wounded have been hospitalized and are in stable condition with varying injuries, the outlet reported.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett told CBS58 that someone driving past opened fire on individuals getting ready to go inside.
He said: "This is an example of the insanity that we're seeing with the number of guns, particularly illegal guns, on the streets in the city of Milwaukee.
"After four consecutive years of reductions in homicides and nonfatal shootings, this year we have seen a dramatic increase here in the city of Milwaukee and it is not acceptable to me, it's not acceptable to the residents of this city and I know it's not acceptable to the police chief and the members of the police department."
Cops are currently looking for a suspect.
