Doctor who can’t save patients dying from coronavirus has ‘nightmares’ every night
During an interview with Channel 4 news the doctor, who is based in the Italian town of Cremona, recalled her experiences dealing with patients suffering from coronavirus. The doctor stated that she is only getting a “few hours” of sleep during the night as she wakes up with “nightmares” every hour.
The Doctor told Channel 4 News: “I go home for a few hours at night and I just collapse on the sofa.
“I’m sleeping but not sleeping because I wake up every hour with nightmares.
“My husband and daughter wait for me at home. They try to talk to me but I can’t even hear them.
“They ask me if I’m listening to them but I can’t.
“That is awful.”
At the time of writing Italy has the 2nd highest amount of COVID-19 cases in the world.
The nation has just less than 28,000 cases in total.
The death toll in Italy is currently over 2150.
There are currently more than 23,000 active COVID-19 cases within Italy.
Of those over 1800 are in a serious or critical condition at the time of writing.
The whole of Italy has been placed in a mandatory lockdown in a bid to reduce the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
