Cat owner in coronavirus quarantine sends moggy to ‘buy food’ in funny clip

A cat lover has said she will be making her feline earn his keep by sending him out on errands while the family is stuck inside due to coronavirus.

TikTok user @bigkidder_ joked that she will send the family cat to buy food and made a montage of clips to show him "shopping" amid many governments issuing lockdown and self-isolation rules to stop the spread of the virus.

In a hilarious video, the ginger tom is sitting next to the front door with a reusable bag over his front shoulder as his owner hands the bemused cat some banknotes which he sniffs suspiciously.

The cat is then seen leaving the house with the bag over his shoulder, money safely tucked inside.

In the next clip, the moggy appears to have come home and his owner opens the bag to reveal a tin of tuna inside.

The creative cat lover wrote in the caption: "When your family is in quarantine but you need groceries."

It has already been a massive hit since it was uploaded three days ago with more than 180,000 likes.

As the coronavirus pandemic grips the world, many people have turned to humour to cope such as in this collection of COVID-19 memes.

The toilet paper shortage has also been widely satirised, with TV star Conan O'Brien making a hilarious "life hack" video giving tips on what he reckoned were suitable bog roll alternatives.

In an even stranger trend which probably won't catch on, people have been getting terrible coronavirus-inspired tattoos and sharing pictures of the inkings on social media.

And a beauty influencer was criticised for not taking the pandemic seriously enough when she made a video tutorial of "coronavirus make-up" while wearing a surgical mask.
