Brit man’s girlfriend stabbed and shot dead during holiday in sleepy town

The girlfriend of a British man was shot dead in Colombia, with authorities still trying to find the exact cause of death.

Anna Tinterova, 25, was gunned down near her quiet hotel late on Friday, September 24, in remote Jardin, two hours south of the city of Medellin.

Her body was found by the roadside.

Anna's British boyfriend, also 25, was interviewed by local police.

He has remained in Colombia to assist the investigation

Local reports have named him, but police have not confirmed the 25-year-old's identity.

He is not suspected of any wrongdoing.

Cops didn't rule out the possibility Anna was shot in a robbery gone wrong.

Early reports suggest she was wounded by a stabbing before being fatally shot by the assailant.

Anna was reportedly killed at around 7.30pm local time next to the roadside spot where her body was later discovered.

The site is a few minutes away from the town centre of nearby Jardin, in the south of the Antioquia region in the north of Colombia.
