Anti-vaxxer mum-of-4 who said she was unmasked and unvaccinated dies of Covid

A mum-of-four who boasted of being "unmasked, unmuzzled and unvaccinated" has died from Covid-19.

Kristen Lowery, from Escalon, California, died aged 40 after contracting the virus.

She leaves behind children Tayden, McKenna, Ella and Ryenn and her family have raised thousands of dollars to cover the funeral expenses of the staunch anti-vaxxer.

Janet Vallotton, who organised a GoFundMe page to raise the funds, said Lowery died "suddenly and unexpectedly".

Some family members posted on social media that the mum had died from Covid with her sister Cassie pleading for prayers on Facebook shortly before her death.

She wrote: "My sister, Kristen, is in the hospital fighting for her life against Covid and pneumonia.

"My sister has a long life left. We need you here sissy. Your kids love and miss you.

"I do not care about your opinion on vaccinated or not. This is not political.

"This is a request for every prayer. Every ounce of strength. You all have. To help my sister pull through this."

Lowery's aunt Roxann Bittner Kalski later confirmed that her "beautiful niece" had lost her battle against the virus with other relatives confirming the news online.

The mum's Facebook profile had included a string of posts sharing anti-vaccine messages.

One included the words: "Unmasked. Unmuzzled. Unvaccinated. Unafraid. Together we win."

Another showed a picture of Lowery next to a sign which reads: "Give a voice to the vaccine injured."

The GoFundMe page raising money for funeral costs reads: "Kristen was a beautiful and amazing woman but more than that she was a phenomenal mother who always, ALWAYS put her children first.

“She lived for her children (Tayden, McKenna, Ella, and Ryenn) and loved being their mother more than anything in her life. She was full of life and loved her friends and family fiercely.

“She was the kind of person that even if she didn’t have anything she would give the shirt off of her back to anyone in need.

"She was everything that was good and kind. Her passing leaves a big hole in many of our lives and she will never be forgotten but will be greatly missed."
