Angry woman activists pour ‘motor oil’ over man accused of posting abusive video

A group of women were left fuming after a man allegedly posted an offensive video online – footage showed the women confronting him and throwing what seems to be motor oil.

Vijay P Nair allegedly posted videos on YouTube in which he made derogatory remarks about women and feminists, reports Scroll.

Under the channel "Vtrix Scene" he posted the alleged video in which he made abusive comments about an activist, Bindu Ammini and about a poet and activist Sugathakumari.

He was confronted on Saturday after a complaint was lodged against him by Diya Sana, another activist.

A video which appears to be in his home was shared on social media showing the confrontation.

The altercation was shared on Facebook Live, on Ms Sana's page.

In the video, taken in Kerala, India, the women can be seen arguing with Nair.

They then allegedly pour motor oil on him, before seizing his laptop and phone.

Nair apologised to those who were hurt by his comments, and has no complaints against the women who confronted him.

A case has been registered against Nair by The Museum Police for a word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman.

With this, another case has reportedly been filed at Thampanoor police station under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to local outlets, Nair's phone and laptop are in police custody.

A police officer said: “We had gone to record his statement following the incident, but he [Nair] said he does not have any complaint.

“In the evening, Bhagyalakshmi and others brought to the station the laptop and mobile phone he used to post the videos.”
