Alexander James Morgan, suspect in Centennial homicide, arrested in Florida
A man wanted in connection to the discovery of a woman’s body inside a Centennial hotel room has been taken into custody in Florida.
Alexander James Morgan, 28, is awaiting extradition to Colorado on a homicide warrant, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said in a Wednesday news release.
Morgan was arrested Monday at a residence in the Gainesville area by members of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, according to the release.
On Dec. 2 deputies responded to a hotel in the 9600 block of East Easter Avenue, on a medical call made by hotel staff, where the body of 33-year-old Amanda Nicole Emberson was found.
The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office announced in a separate release that her death was classified as a homicide, as she died of inflicted injuries.
Arapahoe County investigators are in Florida as part of the ongoing investigation.
