You can currently get shopping breaks to France from £29 each way

Brits wanting to take a trip abroad this year without spending much money are in luck thanks to Eurotunnel’s latest deal.

The service means you can hop across the water to France for a day out whether you prefer to shop or sightsee – and right now, they're offering up some cheap tickets.

In fact, Eurotunnel Le Shuttle is running a special promotion on day trips with tickets from £29 each way.

So, you can drive to the Eurotunnel and head out in France without all of the waiting around that you encounter at airports.

The deal is available until March 23 2023 and it’s the perfect way to explore France or grab some VAT free goods like alcohol, make up and gifts.

For those with a shopping trip in mind, there's more good news.

You can get a tax refund if you spend 101.01euros – you’ll just need to show your passport when you're at the till.

If you’re not interested in shopping for 20% less then you could instead head out into Calais.

The city is just 35 minutes away from Folkestone on the Eurotunnel and there’s plenty to do from boutiques to restaurants.

Or, head to the beach when it's sunny with a picnic of French cheeses and bread.

Deauville, which is a three hour drive from the Eurotunnel exit is a stunning town with picturesque buildings, great shopping and a pretty beach and market hall.

Lille is another fun city to visit near Calais – it takes 70 minutes to get there and has lots to do from visiting the UNESCO-listed belfry for fabulous views to the impressive museums.
