Finding the perfect hotel for your chosen destination can be overwhelming when you’re on a budget, but it doesn’t mean you have to compromise on luxury to cut costs. Whether you’re looking for a half-board experience or an all-inclusive resort, a seasoned traveller has shared an easy trick to get a premium hotel for a fraction of the full price.
In a recent video on her TikTok profile, travel enthusiast Jazz (@lifeofjazz___), shared the clever hack which she has used herself.
The young traveller, who quit her nine-to-five job to explore the world, revealed how she got a £400 hotel experience in Mexico for just £53.
She said: “I stayed at the Yucatan Resort in Playa del Carmen and their sister hotel, Hilton Playa del Carmen has day passes.”
Jazz explained that all you have to do is buy a day pass for a small fee and you “get to experience everything about the hotel”, without actually staying there.
In Mexico, the day passes to the sister hotel she was staying at cost just $65 (£53), as opposed to £400 for a standard booking.
Jazz said: “It is the best experience and you get unlimited everything. Food, drinks, and a la carte restaurants.
“It’s such an amazing experience… I would always advise getting a day pass. It is such good value for money.”
Hilton resort day passes are available across the US and some other nearby countries and are particularly common in popular family destinations like Florida.

While prices vary between resorts, they are a great low-cost way to enjoy luxury accommodation without the hefty price tag.
According to Resort Pass, day access to The Hilton Orlando starts at just £16 for adults, £8 for children and infants go free.
Included in the price, you get to use the pools, lazy river, a poolside food and drink service, discounted parking rates and 15 percent off at the on-site restaurant.
For luxury resorts in Mexico, prices range from £41 to £99, though this is all-inclusive for food, drink and access to facilities.
Travel experts at The Points Guy noted that some hotels offer even more for the price of one-day access, though others are more restricted.
They explained: “Some resort day passes even include a private hotel room for your family’s use during the day.
“In more urban areas, the pass may only include use of the pool and/or fitness centre.”
If you are unsure whether the hotel you’re staying at has a sister hotel, all it takes is a little research before travelling, or you can ask at reception upon arrival.
The Points Guy experts said: “It’s best to reserve your day passes in advance since they are capacity-controlled.
“If you just show up at the resort, you might be turned away if its allotment of passes has already sold out for that day.
“Most often, the resort’s recreation department handles day pass clients, so you’ll usually check in at the recreation desk near the pool or in the spa/fitness area.”
The most popular destinations to use day passes include the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the US.
