Those looking for a new alfresco spot to try out with friends and family may want to look up Rosedew Farm just a 45-minute drive from Cardiff, Wales. Located in the communal town of Llantwit Major, guests can book to enjoy a hand-made food hamper with a bottle of bubbly surrounded by a field of wildflowers.

Each picnic patch is laid out with a parasol, seats, a table and a blanket where diners can sit back and relax among the sunflowers and rolling fields.

A privately carved out pathway leads to each personal space that can accomodate to pushchair and wheelchair users making your time in the Welsh countryside feel very intimate.

A new gin bar with a locally brewed ‘Rosedew Gin’ will also be in full swing at the venue by the end of the month.

In-house kitchen staff at the farm will accommodate visitors dietary requests, with Wales Online reporting food packages can include three varieties of sandwiches, two scones, strawberries, pork pie, giant cookies, two packets of crisps and prosecco.

Diners can either take a 15-20 minute walk from the train station or Rosedew Farm has on-site parking when visiting.

Groups of two to six people can book their own private area for two hours, starting at £70, with sittings between noon and 2pm, 2:30pm and 4:30pm, and a sunset sitting.

With stunning natural scenes and locally-sourced food to indulge on, this luxury experience is excellent for a romantic date setting or a day-out with friends.

If you are also looking to book a rural wedding venue, Rosedew Farm is also a popular choice to exchange your vows.

Having been in the business for ten years, couples can say I do in a rustic barn that can accomodate 80 guests on site with self-catered lodges and shepherd huts to stay in.
